News: 6 hours agoChicago general manager Jeff Pagliocca said Thursday that Vandersloot (knee) is back on the court and working out at full speed, Jack Maloney of CBS Sports reports.

Spin: Vandersloot underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL in her right knee last June and did not make an appearance in the preseason. Her status for the regular-season opener against Portland on May 9 remains in the air, though she's trending in the right direction.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Following two seasons with the Liberty, Vandersloot returned to Chicago in 2025. The 37-year-old improved upon her 2024 results early in the 2025 campaign, averaging 10.6 points, 5.3 assists and 3.1 rebounds in 27.3 minutes per game over her first seven appearances before suffering a season-ending torn ACL. Vandersloot is one of the league's all-time leading passers, ranking second on the all-time assists leaderboard, behind only Sue Bird. However, her output has declined slightly in recent years, as she's averaged just 5.0 assists per game over the past two seasons. Vandersloot re-signed with the Sky ahead of the 2026 season, and while she should have an opportunity to maintain a starting role in Chicago, she doesn't have quite as much fantasy upside as she did earlier in her career, as the team traded away Ariel Atkins but brought in Skylar Diggins this spring.
